I thought before I write some posts about displays from abroad I would show an example of my own work. I designed and dressed this window in January 08. The shop is a pharmacy called Rooney Pharmacy that has a wide stock including bathing and hair products, make up, jewellery and perfume. Most of the products are aimed at women so I decided to appeal to these customers and created a vintage ladies boudoir themed window in soft, fresh colours to indicate the coming spring. I sourced all of the props myself and had great fun in doing so. I made sure all the furniture was painted a light cream so the products had a neutral base to stand out from. The window pane was split into three so I created three differing spaces, each with its own coloured background and different prop. I related the product displayed in each section to the prop, for example, the middle section has a wash basin and jug so all the bathing products went in this section.
The window before I tackled it!

The completed window.
The left section - smaller props include a bunch of flowers, candles, a photo frame and a pair of pink shoes.
The middle section - I hung a sign in swirly writing in this central area saying - "Become Radiant At Rooney's".

The right section - I hung a scarf and a pair of pyjama bottoms over the top of this dresser to give the boudoir a lived in look.

Make up displayed on a glass cake tier.

The make up is displayed in a clear glass vase - I used a lot of clear glass to display products in and on as customers would be able to see the products clearly and also I think it gave the display a airy and clean look.
